Menemukan lagi novel dengan bahasa Inggris yang menurut aku mudah dipahami dan ceritanya juga cocok buat yang lagi mau belajar bahasa Inggris， mengingat ini termasuk ke kategori novel klasik。 Menurutku untuk ukuran novel klasik ini bahasanya enak banget。Bercerita tentang seorang anak perempuan bernama Dorothy yang karena suatu hal membuatnya terjebak dalam Land of Oz dan dia pun berusaha mencari jalan pulang， hingga salah satu makhluk di sana menghimbaunya untuk pergi ke City of Emerald。 Di teng Menemukan lagi novel dengan bahasa Inggris yang menurut aku mudah dipahami dan ceritanya juga cocok buat yang lagi mau belajar bahasa Inggris， mengingat ini termasuk ke kategori novel klasik。 Menurutku untuk ukuran novel klasik ini bahasanya enak banget。Bercerita tentang seorang anak perempuan bernama Dorothy yang karena suatu hal membuatnya terjebak dalam Land of Oz dan dia pun berusaha mencari jalan pulang， hingga salah satu makhluk di sana menghimbaunya untuk pergi ke City of Emerald。 Di tengah perjalanannya dia bertemu beberapa makhluk-makhluk lain yang akhirnya menjadi rekan-rekan seperjalanannya dan membangun kerjasama yang apik。Kurasa cerita ini juga cocok buat anak-anak karena memasukkan unsur persahabatan yang dibalut dengan fantasi。 Ide ceritanya tuh bisa kubilang ringan gitu loh， yang meskipun fantasi， bukan dengan pembahasan yang berat。 Penyelesaian konfliknya juga cukup to the point， meskipun di beberapa bagian menurutku juga agak sedikit janggal。Endingnya menurut aku juga tidak dibuat berbelit-belit。 Jumlah halamannya juga nggak terlalu banyak jadi nggak merasa terbebani。 。。。more

Het is duidelijk een kinderboek。 Maar wel een goed geschreven kinderboek。 De gekke personages creëren een mooie sfeer met veel ironie。 Het is dan weliswaar een simpel boek， maar dat maakt het wel leuk。 En het mooiste is dat het allemaal zo nutteloos is。 Het is duidelijk een gevalletje: het gaat niet om het einddoel， maar om de vrienden die je onderweg hebt gemaakt。 Ik zou het opnieuw lezen。

HeartwarmingThis was my first time reading this book， and I loved it！ Fairytales may be intended for children， but I think it’s important that adults enjoy them too every once in a while。 You can’t just be reading self-help， true-crime or non-fiction books the whole time， your brain needs a break！I enjoyed the different characters a lot， and felt that although they each received a gift from Oz， it wasn’t entirely necessary because the Scarecrow was already coming up with smart plans， the Tin Woo HeartwarmingThis was my first time reading this book， and I loved it！ Fairytales may be intended for children， but I think it’s important that adults enjoy them too every once in a while。 You can’t just be reading self-help， true-crime or non-fiction books the whole time， your brain needs a break！I enjoyed the different characters a lot， and felt that although they each received a gift from Oz， it wasn’t entirely necessary because the Scarecrow was already coming up with smart plans， the Tin Woodman already had compassion on every living thing， and the Cowardly Lion was already brave in the face of danger。This was a quick and easy read during a very tpugh and mentally-challenging week。 。。。more

After reading Finding Dorothy and learning how Mrs Baum was upset with all the changes from the book - I had to see what those changes were。 Holy cow， there were a lot of changes！ Obviously there was no singing in the book， but there were so many extra stories， quests， and characters omitted in the movie。 I actually think the movie was better。

A wonderful classic story that engaged my five-year-old as well as any book has。 Plus we were able to watch the movie afterwards and discuss same/different scenes。 It also inspired our Halloween costumes this year！ :） What a joy！
